Wonderful time

As a group of older ladies, we had a wonderful time. The home was perfect in everyway for our group. Everything was there that we could possibly need, and there were many thoughtful touches that made the stay all the more enjoyable. It was like staying at a friend's house. The amenities were certainly steps above the other place we stayed. Everyone hopes to go back next year!

Our family booked this as a getaway/change of scenery during the pandemic. It was just what the doctor ordered! We spent 6 nights there over the New Years holiday. It was awesome. The house was clean and well-equipped- just as described in the listing. We skied 3 days at Nordic Mountain and tubed 2 others...it's literally a 10-minute (and no longer!) drive from the house, so we'd come home for lunch and then go back to ski some more. We cooked almost every single meal in the kitchen and it had everything we needed- we did order pizza from Christiano's in Wautoma one night and it was nice to know they delivered! We used the hot tub which was great, and parked our 2 cars in the garage, which was a nice bonus. The driveway was plowed for us twice- once upon arrival and another time later in the week when it snowed again. We were all sad to leave when it was time to go home, and hope that we are able to make another trip back to Lasting Memories with our family again!

Perfect place

It was a perfect place to get away with four other families, totaling 10 adults and 10 children. This is a really silly detail, but we all really appreciated the solid wood doors to help with nap time! The fireplaces were cozy, the basement family room area was a great place to play, and a number of memories were made around that large dining room table.

Small wedding

We spent a weekend here in mid-September and held a small wedding ceremony with about 30 of our closest family and friends attending. We had such a difficult time finding a suitable place to hold our special day with COVID going on, but this property more than delivered! The backyard worked perfectly for us and had an incredible backdrop of Kusel Lake for photos. The house itself is massive and was more than enough for 3 families and a couple friends to stay in, and there is also a campground and several hotels nearby where the rest of our group could easily stay. Plenty of kitchen utensils/equipment for making meals, and the hot tub was the perfect place to relax with a couple drinks. The owners even stopped by the day after our wedding and gave us a wedding card and were the nicest people!! Can't recommend this property enough. It will forever be a special place in our hearts and we can't wait to come back! Book it now before somebody else does!

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at this lake house! The log home was updated, clean, and extremely comfortable for our group of 11 people. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything from dishes and cups to ziploc bags, crock pots, and baking pans. There were plenty of towels, and we appreciated the little touches like nightlights in the bedrooms and shampoo/shower gel dispensers in the shower. The upstairs and downstairs living areas gave the adults and kids their own spaces to hang out. The large deck overlooking the yard and lake was a favorite spot for morning coffee. Outside, our group had a blast with the kayaks, stand up paddle boards, pedal boat, and swimming platform. The water was clean and clear with a sandy bottom. The hot tub was a cozy spot to warm up after a dip in the cool lake. The owners responded to our emails quickly and professionally. Our weekend was perfectly comfortable and relaxing, and we hope to go back someday!

The beautiful clean log home was just what our family needed to relax, swim, kayak, paddleboard and enjoy each others company in a safe big home. We had enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. Great wooded setting on clean lake.. House was equipped with everything you need from all kitchen stuff to outdoor water toys even a water raft that we used all week. I highly recommend for a wonderful family get a way!

We just loved our stay in Wild Rose at "Lasting Memories"! The property was perfect for us, the home was large enough for 20 plus our dog who loved the property too. The home is beautiful and well cared for, just as advertised. And communicating with the owners was easy and clear. They put a great touch on the home and made our stay very comfortable. The even provided wood and kindling to start the campfire. Also, the lake was so enjoyable complete with dock, paddle boats, paddle boards, and canoes! We had a blast

Our family rented this house for a week and took full advantage of the lake for fishing and swimming, the large house and multiple seating areas for meal times and game nights, as well as the many other amenities. It fit our large group well with several bedrooms and sleeping areas for the whole crew. We had a blast and plan to be back next year!

This place was just fantastic

This place was just fantastic for our group of 17 women for a 40th birthday party. We did tons of laughing, game playing, and relaxing! There is plenty of room for all to spread out and enjoy each others' company. The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Great memories were made.

Due to all of the craziness happening in the world in March 2020, we ended up delaying our trip to be closer to home for family - but Bonnie and her folks were very communicative and understanding -- and also reassuring about additional cleaning measures that they were taking. This home is amazing

Bonnie is such a great hostess and this home is amazing. We had so much fun- it was a perfect place for 15 friends to get together and catch up. It was so comfy and homey- tons of storage for food (important for 15 people), all the essentials were provided, big coffee maker (also important for 15 people), and tons of room to spread out. We loved our stay and may just have to make it annual!

Gorgeous respite

3 generations of our family from 3 different states gathered together for a weekend of Christmas festivities; complete with gift exchanges, Christmas carols, a cookie baking competition, a fire roaring inside and out, and lots (and lots) of old traditions honored and new memories made. We received amazing correspondence from the property managers leading up to our time together and they even hand-delivered extra chairs for us when I requested it. The house was tastefully decorated with holiday decor, complete with a beautiful tree that held the overflowing gifts. Every amenity was taken into careful consideration and we were never at lack for an item or accommodation. The kitchen was impressively stacked with every dish/bowl/pot/pan and utensil you would need! Young families: We had several toddlers with our group and the house came equipped with a baby gate, pack n play, crib, high chair and an extra toddler safety bed gate as well. Be prepared to leave the stress of the "real world" behind and hunker down for a gorgeous respite.

This cabin was by far one of the best we have stayed at. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and utensils. There was a lot of room and the cabin was well kept. The hot tub was perfect and maintained. We will definitely we staying again for the summer months.

50 Years Strong!

50 years ago a feisty red head looked for a sign to stop a certain wedding :) Those signs did come, but after the vows and rings had already been exchanged.. There was a tornado, a broken arm on the waitress, and a dead car (: However, 50 years, 4 kids, and 9 grandkids later the love is still strong and so many memories made! So many great memories at Lasting Memories!

Once again Detjens did not disappoint! We’ve been booking Detjens properties for winter weekends for about six years now and the service they provide is always great. Easy booking process and quick responses for questions or concerns. I should also add that this past time, my husband left his wallet and they reached out right away to let us know and popped it in the mail to us. We were very appreciative! While this year we were at Lasting Memories, I can say that all the properties we’ve stayed at are always clean, have well-equipped kitchens for cooking and plenty of plates, cups etc for a group of 20. Lasting Memories has tons of pantry space, lots of games and puzzles, great hot tub, warm fireplace, nice bar area, quiet bedrooms, two big tables for eating and games, easy access to the lake, a great outdoor fire pit, and overall very spacious with lots of places to lounge around. The foosball table is always utilized quite a bit for competitions. The driveway was plowed very well and the back area was shoveled with the steps leading down to the lake cleared of ice and snow, which pleased my ice fishing family. Most of us ventured down to take a walk around the frozen lake and enjoy the sun when it came out. We will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend

My group of friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this cabin. What a beautiful space with high ceilings, tons of communal space and seating, clean rooms and a wonderful view of a lake from the main living room. It was a perfect space to house my large group of friends and we even had extra beds that were not used! We also had a wonderful time using the hot tub outside with the cold weather. We will definitely be looking into coming back in summer so we can take advantage of the beautiful lake. Thanks so much!

Great weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Lasting Memories. The layout was great for our group of 12. We had plenty of room to play games and hang out for meals upstairs and have some room for movies and the fireplace downstairs. The hot tub was new and worked really well. It was great even in the cold. The location of the house was convenient yet secluded enough to feel like you were up north. I would recommend this place for large groups, the kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs and the view from the great room across the lake was beautiful. Again Bonnie and Misty were very helpful with any questions and concerns we had. This is our third year staying at their properties and we'll be back next year.

Perfect home for a large family retreat!

This is the second home we've stayed in that Bonnie and Misty rent. We have had a wonderful experience both times and will definitely be returning. They offer clean, comfortable lodgings and consider our every need. The home accommodated my multi family Christmas retreat in a way that gave us each a little separate time. Which is usually a good thing with the late hours that tend to happen when we're having fun. The home is nicely furnished and the view is beautiful. The hot-tub was a big hit and the game room downstairs allowed the kids to have a little freedom without bugging the adults. They pretty well thought of all ours needs and even had things we had forgotten to bring. Bonnie and Misty were even kind enough to leave the Christmas decorations up so that we would have a true Christmas feel.

Perfect Log Cabin Retreat for Large Group

The home was well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend. We had 16 guests and there were plenty of bedrooms and space for everyone to be comfortable. The lake was frozen over so we couldn't enjoy any water activities but there was a nice dock that would be perfect for summer boating. 8 person hot tub was great for a relaxing end to each evening. Would recommend staying here for any large group.
